Coorg. A perfect place for a good vacation. One of my close friend was coming to meet me after a long time and we had chosen to enjoy those days by giving us a treat with a trip to Coorg.
Our trip was planned from Mysore by road. The road was smooth and the ride was enjoyable. One thing we noticed that the roads are quite curvy and had a lot of turns.
Our first stop was Dhubare elephant park. We got a chance to see elephants coming to bathe within close quarters. You can also bathe an elephant by putting water and all. That was quite nice to see.
After reaching Coorg, we went to Abbey falls. It was within forest, surrounded by trees. It was a delightful experience in the lap of the nature. The falls itself is small. It was the least interesting place in the trip.
Next morning, after refreshment we went to Talakaveri. It is known as the birthplace of Kaveri river. Going across hills after hills, the serpentine road covered by thick envelope of tree took us to the top of a mountain, the Talakaveri. On the way, we found a lot of stores where homemade chocolates, honey, dry fruits and homemade wines are available. We bought some commodities to treat ourselves. After reaching the temple, we went to the top and got a nice view of the lofty mountain range. The world seem so small from the top. We enjoyed in the lap of nature for some time. That was the most memorable places I had been to.
On the way back to Bangalore, we stopped at Nisharga Dham. That place doesn’t have anything attractive except the river. We sat in the river bed which have been covered by flat stones and enjoyed the coolness of the water. Sitting in the river bed made us feel as if we have reached a kingdom of peace and tranquillity. I didn’t want to move from that place. After enjoying for long, we returned back to Bangalore. We made a short break in the Tibetan Monastery which a good for a short visit. After spending some time, we headed towards the monotonous city life.
The trip was a memorable one and I will cherish the memories for long.
